Well I decided I didn't want to shell out $175 for a pair of woodland combat pants so I'm modifying a pair of my own. I'm not going for a direct copy of Crye, but my own version. This is just a prototype for which I will make alterations to before I make a finale product. If you guys have suggestions for me by all means let me know.

Looks good but they would be tits if you added the od strechy fabric above the knees I've always wanted to mod my mc ones so I could have the tan but i haven't had the chance to get my sewing machine fixed.

Well I still need to get a sewing machine. I'm only going to add stretch fabric if I feel it's neccesary.

Scotty, I will pay you to make my M81 pants like Crye pants. I will pay for all the materials. Message me back, and we can arrange something.

Ok let me finish my prototype design. Do you want them to look like crye's or my own design?

Well two years later I was hit with some inspiration to come back to this project. The items needed to finish the first modification and complete the second modification are as follows -Liquid stitch fabric glue -2 pieces of shock cord 10-12in. long.(stole these from some mag pouches) -2 cord locks.(stole these from a jacket) -A sharp knife To start I finished the first modification by using the liquid stitch to glue the edges of the knee pad inserts underneath them self's. After the glue dries you can start on step two. For this step you will turn the pants inside out and mark two holes to be cut inside the kneepad pocket and two holes in the bottom of the actual pocket. Once you cut these holes you will loop the shock cord from the inside of the kneepad pocket, running inside the pant leg and then up into the actual pocket. inside the actual pocket you will apply the cord lock and then tie a knot to prevent the cord from pulling back through the lock. So far I'm vary pleased with this mod. It removes the need for stretch panels above the knee but still uses an elastic property to hold the kneepad in the proper spot during standing or kneeling. The third modification will be the addition of behind the knee Velcro to control side to side movement.
